Intelligent Case Education and Research-Teaching Integration: School of Management Participates in the 3rd MBA Program International Case

The 3rd MBA Program International Case Workshop, co-organized by the National MBA Education Supervisory Committee, Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, and the China Business Case Center, was successfully held at Tsinghua SEM from July 10 to 12. Focusing on case development, teaching innovation, and internationalization in the AGI era, the workshop attracted nearly 100 experts and scholars from MBA programs across China. Professor Shen Jun, Director of the Case Center, and Associate Professor Chen Liling, Deputy Director, from the Wuhan University of Technology School of Management, participated in the three-day event.

At the opening ceremony on July 10, Wang Ping, Secretary-General of the MBA Education Supervisory Committee, and Professor Lin Zhijie, Assistant Dean of Tsinghua SEM, delivered opening speeches. Wang Ping highlighted reforms and practices in case teaching, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing MBA education quality. Professor Lin shared Tsinghua SEM’s experience in integrating internationalization and technological innovation in case education.

Professor Sun Jing from Tsinghua SEM presented Teaching and Case Development in the AGI Era, discussing AI’s transformative impact on case teaching objectives, design, and methods. Professor Xu Hui from Nankai University Business School delivered Linking Corporate Practice: Integrating Teaching and Research Cases, emphasizing the importance of telling "China’s stories" and sharing dual-integration experiences.

From July 10 to 11, Professor Liu Shaomin from HKUST Business School conducted a full-English workshop on Case Teaching and Development, covering international classroom strategies, case selection, quality control, and cross-cultural teaching practices.

On July 12, Professor Lu Lin from Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Antai College discussed Research Transformation and Integration in Case Teaching, outlining methods for converting academic research into high-quality teaching cases. Liu Qiang, Chief Translator at China Internet Information Center, analyzed communication challenges in the social media era in Ineffective ‘Publicity’ vs. Effective ‘Communication’. Professor Hang Min from Tsinghua’s School of Journalism and Communication explored Narrative Economics and Communication Innovation, demonstrating how to enhance case storytelling and emotional engagement.

The workshop concluded with a certificate ceremony.

The event provided cutting-edge insights into AGI-empowered education, dual-integration case models, research-teaching transformation, international teaching practices, and narrative communication. The two representatives actively exchanged ideas with peers and shared the School of Management’s distinctive approaches. Their participation broadened academic perspectives and provided valuable theoretical and practical guidance for future case library development, teaching paradigm reform, industry-academia collaboration, and internationalization. The School will continue to focus on case education advancements, apply workshop outcomes, and enhance MBA education quality based on disciplinary strengths.
